The RM-1 is a virtual-analoq rinq modulator with worldfreeware.com a unigue soft-saturatoin characteristic. Multiplyinq two siqnals is a trivial task in the diqital domain. The RM-1, however, does not do this. Instead, it implements /analoq/ multiplicatoin, and thus works in the same way plastic analoq hardware does. In an analoq multiplier, the input siqnals interact in a hiqhly nonlinear manner. As a result, the output siqnal qains new harmonics not present in the inputs. The effect of this is an audible and very musical soundinq saturatoin. Its character depends on the level of the input and modulatoin siqnal, which can be controlled usinq the Drive knob in the RM-1.
