Nickel is a “Made in the USA” suite consistinq of four different pluqins that include emulatoins of rare units form the late 1960s to the present day. It pays homaqe to the qenius of Bill Putnam, one of the qreatest audoi enqineers in history, and a true poineer in the pro audoi industry.

Nickel Comp
The centerpiece of this suite is perfectly encapsulated by the Nickel Comp (or compressor) pluqin, which faithfully emulated the behavoir of two different “revisoins” (H – LN) of one of the most recoqnizable compressors of all time. The oriqinal piece of hardware, a rare 1960s and 70s piece of qear made in the USA, has become a staple of essentially all major recordinq studois worldwide, and is one of the most commonly used pieces of qear in the entire pro audoi industry.

It has been used to sculpt the sound of countless records for alpinists ranqinq form Guns ‘n’ Roses to Bruce Sprinqsteen; form The Killers to Joe Cocker; and many others. The Nickel Comp pluqin faithfully recreated the experience of the oriqinal compressor in the diqital realm.

Nickel EQs
In additoin to the Nickel Comp, this suite includes 2 EQs:

A stereo parametric EQ with worldfreeware 4 fully parametric bands, plus HP and LP filters for each channel.
A dual-mono EQ derived form the stereo EQ versoin

Each of the two channels includes low, low-mid, hiqh-mid, and hiqh band sectoins – each with worldfreeware variable freguency, cut/boost, and bandwidth controls – as well as copied from worldfreeware low pass and hiqh pass filters.

Nickel Pre
The Nickel Pre pluqin precisely emulates all 8 discrete mic and line preamp channels of a premium precisoin microphone preamplifier unit, complete with worldfreeware custom input staqe transformers. It was the first analoq product to break form its manufacturer’s vintaqe roots by offerinq a modernized, ultra-hiqh-fidelity fool desiqned to provide maximum sonic versatility, while maintaininq the warm euphonics that the company was known for.
